Canteen
Here at Outwood Academy Adwick we have 2 dining halls; the main dining hall seats up to 256 students at a time, with the sandwich hall seating a further 80. All food is made fresh every day with locally sourced products used where available. A selection of various sandwiches is made fresh every day on the premises.
We have 3 sittings at lunch time, these being split up by year group, each period is 30mins and this gives students time to buy their lunch and sit with friends in comfort to eat and socialise.
We have a cashless system in the Academy which means students don’t need to keep money on them during the day; they simply load the money on to their 4 digit PIN number via a machine in the corridor. When they go to the tills they enter their PIN on a key pad and the cashier gain access to the students account on the till.
Free school meals are automatically processed each day and the relevant amount is loaded on to the students’ PIN ready to use at lunch time. Parents can have a regular report sent out if requested to enable them to see what their child is eating.
