Learning Model

The learning model aids students in recognising all attributes which lie within them and helps them to bring them to the surface. By developing these skills and qualities, we are educating the whole student in preparation for life experiences and challenges.

“Next to national defence, skills are probably the most important task and priority for this nation.
Lord Leitch 2008″

The Learning Model provides a vehicle for establishing a ‘Deep Learning’ culture in our community and aids us to:

  • Raise standards by developing more elaborate conceptions of learning
  • Raise engagement and enjoyment for both learners and educators
  • Raise students who have the appetite, capacity and confidence to face the unforeseeable challenges and uncertainties which life will throw at them

Staff and students alike are becoming ‘Deep Learners’ throughout the constant recognition and realisation of the 10 skills and qualities which form the model. Resources are collected and collated and are available to all via our VLE. Lessons are primarily focussed on educating the student’s mind, but when combined with the learning model, lessons swiftly become a life changing experience and an education becomes so much more than simply achieving grades.
